Alan Baker, Jr. as well as Alan Baker,Sr. of BACORP Building Group, Inc. in Forked River recently attended the 2008 New Jersey Clean Energy Leadership Awards ceremony in Jersey City, NJ.

The New Jersey Clean Energy Leadership Awards program is dedicated to recognizing business and local leaders who have made powerful choices by taking advantage of renewable energy and energy efficient programs.

BACORP Building Group, Inc. had designed and built the new restaurant Octopus’s Garden, a favorite Stafford Township seafood eatery owned and operated by conservationists Peter and Christine Russo of Long Beach Island.

Along with BACORP‘s propriety energy efficient construction, they incorporated innovative heat recovery from walk-in freezers as well as utilizing 22 tons of geothermal heating and cooling and over 16 kilowatts of rooftop photovoltaic solar collectors. Octopus’s Garden was a nominee for New Jerseys Clean Energy Leadership Awards for 2008.
